Shoe Orthotics (Orthoses)
We provide a full scientifically validated assessment, prescription and custom made orthotic device service.
What are orthotics used for?
Orthotics can provide individually tailored support to allow for optimal bio-mechanical function:
- Improve postural alignment
- Reduce pain
- Promote healing
- Reduce risk of re-injury
The orthotic alters your posture by raising different areas of the foot by a number of carefully measured degrees. The purpose for this action could be for a number of reasons such as to relieve a pinched nerve or to shift the focus of active muscles allowing rest and recuperation. Orthotics are also effective for correctly postural alignment resulting from pronation or leg length discrepancies.
Shoe orthotic assessment process
Will orthotics fit all my shoes?
Custom made orthoses can be constructed in different lengths, widths, thicknesses and density, either to specially fit one shoe type or to be a more general fit for all shoe types. Orthoses are commonly used in everyday casual and work footwear, in sport shoes and can even come in slimfit design to fit narrower shoes often worn by women. If necessary, clients are offered 1 free adjustment or trimming of the orthoses within 3 months of order.

How long will a pair of custom-made orthotics last me?
Orthotics we supply are made from high quality, durable materials so each pair can be expected to give up to 2 years of reliable use. It is also possible to have orthoses refurbished at low cost with new heel pads and coverings which can considerably extend the life of the device.
A customised and removable device means you can easily place the orthoses/insoles in different shoes on different days, giving you the greatest flexibility while ensuring the same tailored support, otherwise not possible in regular shoes.
